Blackstone Chambers has considerable experience in both domestic and international arbitration. Chambers has a number of members who appear not only as counsel in arbitrations, but also sit as Arbitrators. These barristers are on the approved lists of the LCIA and the ICC.
Key recent arbitration experience includes:
- An LCIA arbitration concerning the sale of steel industry assets by a state to a company. The state then allegedly kept the proceeds and failed to pay the industry’s trade debts. Representing claimant in state's Commercial Court challenge to finding in arbitration.
- Representing a former Soviet Republic state in a six-day arbitration in a $140m dispute involving allegations of fraud and constructive knowledge.
- A major fraud arbitration, involving allegations of fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, proprietary remedies and tracing claims, as well as allied freezing and disclosure orders.
